The trip to Florida is now one day less than two weeks away. I can't believe how quickly it's sneaking up! Fortunately we've made a lot of headway on the to-do list in the past couple of weeks.

I already wrote about the steal I made on the bathing suit. No, I still don't have a photo of myself wearing it, but it has been officially used. My baby sister Rose came to visit last weekend and we spent a little time in the pool at the condos - my first time using it in the two-plus years we've lived there. I took the opportunity to try out the arm floaties I bought, and I'm afraid they don't quite provide the buoyancy I'd like. They're made of foam, rather than inflatable, and the foam doesn't stay above the surface of the water like inflatable ones do. Chris seems to think we still have a pair of inflatables tucked away somewhere, but if we don't find them I will make do with the foam ones. They do work okay in conjunction with a "noodle" tucked under my arms.
We also made a trip up to the outlets in Wrentham, MA while Rose was here. First let me say that while I usually hate shopping, shopping with my baby sister, with whom I probably have the most in common taste-wise out of all of my siblings, rocks! We hit up Claire's, which is a jewelry/accessory store usually geared towards girls much younger than ourselves. Rose cleaned the place out, and I got a pretty little white flower to clip in my hair, something I've wanted for a long time. And then, we wandered into the Skechers outlet, where all three of us walked out with a new pair of shoes. Rose got some cute little black Mary Jane-esque dress shoes, Chris found some new sandals, and I got my sneakers! They are awesome... completely laceless elastic sneakers, and they're super comfy and not weird-looking like so many sneakers are these days.
No luck on the wheelchair bag so far... if I don't find a used one within the next couple of days, then I will have to order a new one. The tires, however, will be visiting the local bike shop for new inner tubes sometime this week.
Hopefully my body will be ready for the trip. I've been fighting some type of virus or something for the past week. Lots of headaches and no energy - falling asleep early every night and still unable to wake up in the morning. And today I got two cavities filled, and let me tell you, my reaction to the novocaine was not like it has ever been before. Aside from the fact that it seemed to take longer than usual to wear off, I had the shakes, and the whole right side of my body (the side it was injected on) was weak and uncoordinated. It was quite entertaining - almost as entertaining as I was last Saturday night after we celebrated Rose's belated 21st.
