Travel Rant #1: Why do people always ask, "How was your flight?" Do they expect to get an interesting answer? Several hours in a narrow seat, sitting entirely too close to a complete stranger, breathing the recycled air of a whole plane full of strangers. How do you think it was?!
Travel Rant #2: When one is stranded in an airport halfway between source and destination for several hours between flights, it would be nice to have a dining area with chairs and tables where one can sit and eat something, rather than having to settle for a chocolate milkshake which one then proceeds to spill all over the chair in which one was planning to sit.
Despite all that, I survived my trip to Oregon. A week goes by quickly, but for now at least, I think it was just the right amount of time. It's always great to see everyone, but being there has its stresses too, most of which would be relieved if I had the ability to stay somewhere independently and transport myself from place to place as I wish. But until that happens, I think it's better for me to go for short periods of time, perhaps just a little bit more often.
I finished putting my photos online this morning. The gallery design isn't perfect yet, but I figured I would go ahead and post a link, and worry about the non-essential details later.
