The software upgrade is complete, and comments and trackbacks are once again open. If you should run into anything on the site which does not appear to be working correctly, please let me know.
As a result of the upgrade I've had to make a few changes, some of which I am not entirely thrilled about. The pop-up comment form is gone; the form is now at the bottom of each entry page. The plugin I had purchased which allowed for smilies in posts and comments is not compatible with the new version of Movable Type, so smilies are gone for now (at least in comments... I can still insert them in posts, just not as quickly and easily as before). And finally, the plugin which allowed for extra entry fields, such as the longer post titles for the RSS feed, is now only available as part of a $100 add-on pack. There is no option to purchase just the one plugin. I am rather unamused by this.
That same plugin is what also allowed me to assign a thumbnail image to each of my photo albums. I found a way around the thumbnail issue, but I'm going to have to start giving my blog posts longer, more descriptive titles here on the site since I no longer have the option of assigning a different title for the feed. Maybe it's just as well, as I have become rather uncreative with my two-word titles as of late, and the alliterations were getting old.

Cool. The comment form will now be hidden until you click "post a comment". I'm much happier now. You can even re-hide the form with the Cancel/Hide button.

This is only a test. I put this here, well, cuz somebody said I should see if this site was protected against the blinky. Since I succeeded inposting this, clearly it is not!
