Neil posted this "sorta different" quiz, and for lack of anything better to do I figured I'd play along.
1: Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:
"If you do not perform learning steps within..."
It's the user manual to my universal learning remote control. We bought a new home theater receiver tonight and I had to program the remote to operate it.
2: Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?
The armrest on my chair. I don't have much of a reach.
3: What is the last thing you watched on TV?
Just now, as I was searching for the nearest book, Chris replayed for me a segment on "Real TV" about a woman born without arms, who does everything with her feet, including her job as a professional makeup artist.
4: WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what the time is:
Around 1:30 AM.
5: Now look at the clock; what is the actual time?
1:35 AM.
6: With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?
The TV in the other room.
7: When did you last step outside? What were you doing?
We were returning from Best Buy with the aforementioned receiver.
8: Before you came to this website, what did you look at?
Lily of the Valley
9: What are you wearing?
A cute summer t-shirt I bought at the Eddie Bauer outlet in Wrentham the other day, and super-comfy sweatpants. And underwear, of course.
10: Did you dream last night?
I know I did, but I can't remember a thing.
11: When did you last laugh?
When I read a joke I had received from a daily joke e-mail list.
12: What is on the walls of the room you are in?
One collectible dolphin plate (the rest of the collection awaiting hanger replacements), a framed dolphin poster, and a wall calendar featuring puppies.
13: Seen anything weird lately?
Well I suppose the car in front of us on the way to Best Buy, with its tail- and headlights sort of flicker-pulsating as if they would quit altogether any minute, would count.
14: What do you think of this quiz?
Well, it was a way to kill 30-or-so minutes before finally going to bed. Oh wait, we're not done?
15: What is the last film you saw?
We recently rented Something's Gotta Give, and also stumbled across a rather interesting movie called The Good Girl on TV. I honestly can't recall which was more recent.
16: If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?
A nice, long tropical vacation. I'd wait til we got back to worry about paying off debts, houses, vehicles and the like.
17: Tell me something about you that I don’t know.
I once wrote a highly creative story (in 6th grade) about the Easter Bunny, who actually lives on an Easter-egg-shaped planet only visible from Earth during the 2 or 3 nights leading up to Easter, and often mistaken for the moon by non-believers. I had planned to write a sequel to it this week to post on SaidSimple, but have not yet had the time nor peace and quiet to do so.
18: If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
I would have people worry only about how they live their own lives, and stop trying to legislate how others live theirs.
19: Do you like to dance?
I like to, but I recognize that what my dancing looks like is a bit different from what most others are accustomed to seeing, so I refrain from doing so in public unless I am extremely happy... or extremely drunk.
20: George Bush: is he a power-crazy nutcase or someone who is finally doing something that has needed to be done for years?
Would you let me get away with saying he has been a little bit of both?
21: Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?
I've toyed with the idea of "Alexandrea"... that way she would have a wide selection of shorter names to go by: Allie, Alex, Lex or Lexi, Andy, or Andrea.
22: Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?
I'm not sure specifically, but it would have to be an uncommon name, like Aidan.
23: Would you ever consider living abroad?
Probably not. I'm pretty used to my American culture, as loathsome as some others may find it.
