My next door neighbor's battle with pancreatic cancer ended early Saturday morning. She was fifty-nine.
Interesting timing, as this Friday is the first annual charity golf tournament in memory of Mrs. Ping, who was taken from us last year after her long fight with liver/colon cancer. Despite the pain and despair that this disease brings to so many people, Friday's event promises to be a lighthearted and joyful one, as that is how Mrs. Ping would have wanted it. The boys plan to make sure of it by dressing in the ugliest goofy golf clothes they can find. If you don't already, you may want to subscribe to my Twitter feed, as I'm sure I will have funny pictures and stories to share all day.
Please remember to give as much and as often as you can to cancer-related charities such as the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and the American Cancer Society.
