Over the past few weeks I've snuck a few new features into the sidebar, without really telling you anything about them. It has occurred to me that if I point them out and explain what they do, more people might start using them.
The most recent addition is the "random thoughts" section, powered by Twitter. When something enters my head that I want to say, but isn't worth a full confoozion entry, I'll post it there (via IM or text message). It may be something I'm doing at the time, something that just happened in my presence, or just some crazy thought that has nothing to do with anything, as I am prone to having once in a while. Since these aren't full posts, you won't see e-mail or RSS notifications for them, but if you sign up for Twitter and add me as a friend, you can choose to get updates via IM or text message.
Next we have "linkworthy". This is a list of links to entries on other blogs or news articles I've recently read and found to be interesting or entertaining. Things that are worth linking to, but again without warranting an entire post on the subject.
Finally, there's the Recent Readers widget, provided by MyBlogLog. If you'd like to be able to automatically leave a link to your own blog or web site just by stopping by, then sign up for MyBlogLog, optionally join the confoozion community, and make sure you stay logged in. As long as your MBL cookie stays active, every time you visit a site with their widget, your name and avatar will appear at the top of that Recent Readers list without you having to lift a finger. And you don't have to have your own blog - you can still sign up if you just want to announce your presence and let me know you actually read my ramblings.
