A couple months ago we got a letter from the US Census Bureau, saying they were doing a survey about employment and that our household had been randomly selected. It was voluntary, and a census worker would come to our apartment for a short interview. This was all the letter stated was involved. So fine, painless enough, we agreed.
At the end of the interview, the census worker informed us there would also be a followup telephone survey in one month, and asked if it would be okay to call us. Well, we were a little surprised that this wasn't mentioned in the letter, but okay, one phone call, guess we can handle that.
So last month he called, and did the telephone survey with Chris. At the end of that phone call, he informed Chris there would be yet another telephone followup in another month. He has been leaving message after message on our machine for the past four days.
For something voluntary, this is getting way too intrusive. Not to mention deceptive - why did the letter not tell us what we were really getting into? They just let us believe each part is the last of it, and then surprise, there's more! I've half a mind to tell this guy where to stick it.
