We recently made the observation that it takes inviting company over to force us to finally get our acts together and get the condo cleaned up. And I have no complaint with that; I love entertaining, and if we need to start doing it more often in order to keep our lives in order, no problem!
Of course, if we're going to have more dinner parties, then we're going to have to expand our menu. Our two favorite meals to prepare for guests (and I feel like I shouldn't be saying "our" since Chris does most of the work - and yeah, he's an awesome cook) are "Surf & Turf" - grilled steak and baked stuffed shrimp - and the good ol' Italian feast. They are great meals, but they will eventually get old... not to mention how jealous I get when everyone is having a foodgasm over the shrimp and I can't have any due to my shellfish allergy.
Good thing the internet is such a great resource for free recipes. CookingSpot.com looks to have a few recipes worth trying out. They even have recipes for homemade dog treats (definitely going to have to try one of those out on the spoiled princess). Their site also has a shopping list feature which lets you select recipes you want to prepare and builds a shopping list of all the ingredients. The one thing off the top of my head that is missing is nutrition information. I would love to be able to see how many calories are in a serving of that delicious-looking macaroni & cheese recipe, or even better, to type in how many calories I want to consume and have the serving size automatically adjusted.
