Well, it looks like it's time for another installation of linkworthy items, for the two reasons that a) I haven't had much to write about lately, and 2) I've tagged five new items since the last installation. I decided to spare you all the attempt at an April Fools post, mainly because I couldn't think of anything good. I did get my mom and sisters, though, with a subtle e-mail asking what they liked for girl and boy names...
I just laughed for 5 straight minutos
from Meg at Cute Overload
After a spate of photos submitted to CO depicting tortured "puppehs" with various treats balanced on their heads and other body parts, someone decided to try it with another species. We've been working on this trick with Brooskey for the past several weeks, so when I saw this I cracked up. (And in case you're wondering, Brooskey is doing great with it... even to the point that he catches the treat in mid-air almost every time when he's told to "take it"!)
Grand total of 78,215 words
from Heather at dooce
Heather's description in this post of an episode of MTV's "Rob & Big" and her family's subsequent reenactment had me laughing so hard I decided I absolutely have to check out the show. Although since I am extremely forgetful, I still haven't managed to do so. I think I'll go over to TiVo's online scheduling right now...
Best way to make friends and get suspended
from Monkee at Monkeychapps
Monkee tells how he handled a dumb comment made by a coworker regarding his physical appearance. I can say there have been many little kids I've wanted to do something like this to (like the kid at my old apartment complex who felt the need to inform me that I walk funny every time he saw me), but I find it really sad that this was supposedly a fully grown adult. You go, Monkee.
There's a Bun in My.....Hard Drive??
from Mandi at Neurotic by Nature
The only April Fools joke I fell for this year. ThinkGeek is known for putting all kinds of wacky products up on April Fools Day... Mandi took this one and ran with it, and I was the sucker who believed it. How appropriate that it has a bit of a connection with the joke I played on my family.
Is Schuyler a political pundit or a techie futurist?
from Rob at Fighting Monsters with Rubber Swords
Rob's daughter Schuyler has a brain malformation that leaves her unable to speak. But that doesn't stop her from making some amusing political commentary which he shared in this post. I can tell already... I like this kid!
