Maybe I've just been living under a rock, but it seems to me like the US Postal Service didn't do much to publicize this latest postage increase. It was by pure dumb luck that I found out about it. If I hadn't visited the USPS web site to look up something else, I never would have known about it. Granted, I am usually asleep by the time Chris turns on the news at night, so maybe I really was the last to know (actually, I know that's not true - at least one of my coworkers didn't know either).
But in case you missed it too, yes, postal rates went up this Monday. A first class stamp now costs 44¢. If you're smart and have been buying Forever Stamps, you're all set, but if you have any 42¢ stamps lying around, you're going to need some 2¢ stamps to go with them!
