netflix-style book rental for bookworms

If you have an avid reader on your list this holiday season, here's a gift idea. BookSwim is an online book rental service... essentially, it's Netflix for books. True, you can "rent" books for free at your public library, but this might be a good alternative for people who find it hard to get to the library. If I were still a heavy reader, I'd probably consider this for myself, as finding regular rides to the library might be a challenge.

For the holiday season, BookSwim is offering the following incentives to those who purchase gift cards for their loved ones.

For every $50 gift card you buy, get a $5 card for yourself. Buy a $100 gift card and get a $20 card for free!
For every card you purchase, get an entry into the drawing to win one of two $299 Sony Blu-Ray players.
For every gift card purchase, a tree is planted to offset new book paper production.

Thanks for this write-up, might have to look into this service. I have a great local library, but popular books are always hard to get a hold of.
