munchkin birthday gift ideas

I just realized today that I have three little niecerphews (seriously, we need a gender-neutral word for them, and that's as good as any) with birthdays coming up in the next month and a half. I've stopped buying anything for the adults in my family for their birthdays. Not even a card... I pay $15 a year for a premium e-cards membership on American Greetings so I won't have to buy cards and pay postage! But the munchkins deserve to have presents to open, so I always buy them a little something.

But their birthdays are sneaking up on me quickly, and I have no ideas! What do you get for a five-year-old girl and ten- and two-year-old boys? I have no problem with a combined gift as long as it's affordable. Any ideas?

If it's in the budget go for a Wii. It will keep them all happy for hours at a time if their parents want them to play that long. Wii has games for all of those ages and it is something they can all play together.

If that isn't an option anything crafty or Barbie for the girl, Thomas the Tank for the the two year old and for the ten year old an action figure. Good luck.

Well, actually it depends on what they like. My 4-year-old daughter likes trucks, dolls, princess stuff, art and music. And her 5-year-old brother likes cars, movies, telling stories and coloring. My 2-year-old daughter wants whatever they have. So, if you do a combined gift it has to be safe for the youngest and interesting enough for the oldest. Barnes & Noble and stores like that have great family-oriented stuff in the kids section... maybe they'll have an idea for ya! Good luck. Sorry I can't be more help.
