I'm reading back through my 2008 entries with the intention of writing a recap of the past year of my life, and immediately with the first entry on January 8, I'm cracking up at the similarities to my situation right now.
At the beginning of the year last year I was dealing with a PC organ transplant, to install all of the souped up new hardware Chris had bought me for Christmas. Right now I'm getting ready to transplant the system into a new case, because that annoying little problem that developed with my reset button a couple of months back? Remember that? Well the same thing is now affecting the power button. To keep my computer from randomly powering itself on and shutting itself down, we had to disconnect the faulty button, which means that now to turn my computer on we have to manually "bridge the contacts" (I'm sure that's not the technical term, but it sounded good) on the motherboard using a screwdriver. Oh but don't worry, we haven't been doing this repeatedly. I've left it on since disconnecting the button, while waiting for the new case I ordered to come in. It came today, so hopefully Chris can do the surgery tonight.
I also remarked last January about how I did not have a new masthead ready for confoozled.com in time for the first of the month. The same is true this January, but this time I'm not delaying posting because of it. I'll get to it when I get to it.
That recap post is going to have to wait a bit longer, though.
