Despite all of the frustration, I didn't have a completely unsuccessful weekend. What I failed to mention yesterday is that I also did some more dress shopping. At first it felt like a complete failure. I called it quits when I had a near anxiety attack after an employee at one store suggested I was an extra-large. (I know she didn't have a clue what she was talking about, but with as much as I hate clothes shopping to begin with, that was enough to make me shut down.) I was sweaty and out of breath from trying to keep up with Chris and trying to keep morons who don't know how to walk from barging in between us, in an overheated mall. I came home with three dresses, fully expecting to hate them all as soon as I put them on my body.
Ah, but I didn't hate them all. In fact I didn't hate any of them. One of them, however, combined with the forward curve in my lower spine, made me look about six months pregnant. It was a flattering pregnant look, but the rumors that would spark are not something I need, so that one is going back. However, the other two, I am keeping.
One is from Charlotte Russe, a navy blue and white tiered sundress with adjustable spaghetti straps which will have to be detached and crossed. I have an appointment with my hairdresser tomorrow, and it just so happens that her mother does clothing alterations, so I'm going to ask if she can do it for me. I paired it with an off-white cropped cardigan to keep my shoulders warm when I'm not tearing it up on the dance floor. 
The other dress is a more casual purple floral sundress from American Eagle. This one is already crossed in the back, and the point where the straps cross is adjustable so I can slide it up nice and high to be sure the straps aren't going to fall off of my shoulders. I'll still need to find some kind of sweater or cover-up to go with this one. Also I'm not sure if this one is wedding material, but I'll at least wear it on my birthday or even some random summer weekend when I just feel like dressing up. I noticed this one comes in solid black, white or grey in addition to the floral print, so I may even go back for another one (or more likely just order it online, now that I know how they fit).
