I think this is both a pet issue and a disability issue...
Since most bottles are too tall for a straw (watch me try to fish out a straw that's fallen into a bottle half an inch too tall - it's rather amusing), I pour my bottled drinks into 16 oz. Solo cups. You know, the ones you buy for keg parties? My problem, now that we have two puppies, is that they like to help themselves to my drinks! It's bad enough when I have to dump out a practically full flavored water because it's now full of dog slobber. But what I'm really afraid of, is that one day it might be an alcoholic beverage they get into. Not something you want a puppy drinking, especially a four-pound one.
I know that the plastic lids you get at fast food places, at least the ones made for 16 oz. cups, will also fit these party cups. I just can't find where to buy them. I tried Sam's Club, and they had just about every size and style of lid except for the ones I need. I'm looking for the ones designed for cold drinks, with a straw hole in the middle. Not the ones for hot drinks with the flap on the edge that you peel up to drink through. I did find some online at a food service supplier, but I'm hoping to find them in a slightly smaller quantity so that I don't have to spend quite so much money at one time. Or at the very least, somewhere local so that I don't have to pay for shipping.
These would also come in handy for the fact that sometimes I have trouble carrying a drink from one room to another without spilling.
Any ideas?
