Why do computers always die when you really don't have the cash to fix them?
The USB controller on Chris' motherboard decided it had had enough this week. And with a USB keyboard, this meant no boot-up, period. So the choice was, spend $30-$40 on an add-on USB card and a PS/2 adapter for the keyboard, or go ahead and fork out the $100 for the new motherboard. We went for the new motherboard. Which means the old one is now available on eBay with no reserve price. As far as we know the USB is the only thing not working, so I'm sure someone can use it.
