Travelocity has just about made it to my permanent shit list. Their latest scumbag tactic? Bait-and-switch low fare alerts that tell you the airfare to a city in which you've indicated interest has hit a ridiculously low price, but when you go to try to book it they tell you it's all sold out. What they're banking on is that you'll have already told people a trip was imminent, and when you find out you can't get the fare that was advertised, you'll feel obligated to go ahead and buy the ticket at a higher price, since promises have already been made.
So, I will try Southwest Airlines, or alternatively, keep checking back for a few weeks and see if I can find a better deal. Because I'm not paying $400-$500 for a plane ticket, regardless of who offers to help me, and I'm not taking a red eye flight with two plane changes.
