A little less than four years ago, I received the news that I was going to become an auntie. I was ecstatic. Despite circumstances which made my sister's pregnancy less than timely, how could anyone bemoan the impending birth of a child? What was done was done, lessons were learned, and it was time to rejoice and fall in love with a new, tiny family member. My excitement led me to build a home page for my nephew, which went up just days after his birth.
Being an aunt is every bit as wonderful as I always knew it would be. Brendan is so beautiful, so precious, so perfect. I only wish he lived closer to me, so that I might see him more than once a year.
The home page I built for Brendan eventually gathered dust and cobwebs, as I never really got around to updating it. The other day I had a chat with my friend Mimi, who showed me the sites she built for her three sons, Felix, Alex, and Justin. I was suddenly inspired to dust off Brendan's home page and do something to breathe some life back into it. A little over 24 hours later, Brendan's 'Big Roary' World was born.
