The August online income total is in, and this time I well exceeded the $15 goal. For the month of August I earned $75.81. That breaks down to $38.24 for paid blog posts, $2.47 in advertising, and $35 in affiliate marketing.
Now I want to clarify that last $35. I didn't actually make any sales through my affiliate networks. The $35 is just bonuses, just for getting started with a small affiliate network called MoreNiche. They only have a short list of products to promote, but they offer a lot of resources to help you be successful which other affiliate programs don't, including search engine optimized web site templates for most of the products, making it easy even for those who've never built a web site before to get started making money. And they offer up to $45 in bonuses to get started: $15 just for signing up, $10 for posting your first product web site or link, $10 for the first visitor to click one of your links, and $10 for your first fifty posts to the MoreNiche forums (this is the only bonus I have not yet earned). As if all that wasn't awesome enough, they also offer $20 for referring other affiliates, plus 5% commission on your referrals' sales... for life!
I'm going to focus most of my efforts this month on affiliate marketing with MoreNiche as well as other networks. I might even go back to one network I left a few years ago thinking it was for good... if they have any promotions with commissions high enough to get past their minimum payment threshold. (Minimum payouts are something I take issue with, but that's another rant for another day.) I'm also giving eBay another trial run as a way to make some extra money, which I plan to go into in another post this week.
Since I so easily surpassed August's $15 goal, but had $35 in one-time bonuses I won't earn again, I'm setting September's goal at $45. With a little hard work I should be able to reach this goal without a problem.
