A little over a month ago, I learned that my grandmother was in the ICU with what they thought at the time was severe pneumonia. She returned home about a week-and-a-half ago, but I've just learned that things are worse than we thought.
The diagnosis of pneumonia was first replaced with one of emphysema, later changed to "treatable" lung cancer. But they were still wrong. She has stage 4 cancer that has spread to her lungs and liver, but did not originate in either of those places. They have been unable to determine just where it did come from.
I ask for all those reading this to please pray for her. It doesn't matter what religion you are - I believe we're all ultimately praying to the same God, regardless of what we call Him or what form we think He takes. Even if you don't believe in a higher power, your good thoughts are still appreciated. All I ask is, if she must be taken from us, that she go peacefully, without pain, fear, or suffering... and that her family and friends, and especially my grandfather, are able to heal with time.
